Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community shared its support for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
