Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and had been in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.
Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
